Makeup Tips For A More Youthful Appearance

As we get older, we see that our everyday makeup routine just isn't cutting it like it used to. Some of our most favorite applications and go-to products now negatively affect our skin's texture and appearance.
Does that mean we have to give up and let ourselves be defeated? Of course not! All you have to do is switch up your makeup routine and the way you apply it to keep yourself looking gorgeous and flawless.

Switch over to a liquid foundation.
As we get older, our body changes and that includes our face and skin. We no longer produce as much oil as we did when we were younger so switching over from a powder to liquid foundation is key. You really want to pay attention to the finish of the foundation as you don't want to go for a matte finish; that will only enhance any fine lines we may have. Always go for a liquid foundation that has a dewy or velvety finish. This gives your face a more illuminated and healthy appearance!
Switch over to a cream blush.
Just like foundation, you will want to make the transition from a powder blush to a cream blush. A cream blush will lift up the face and is way more blendable vs. a powder brush. Plus, it won't settle into any fine lines or creases.
Keep those brows up to date.
Over the years, our eyebrows become lighter and sparse. Try filling in your brows to give yourself a more awakened and youthful appearance. By doing this, you give your face some structure and it makes a huge difference. We recommend going with a brow gel as it will give your brows a fierce yet natural look.
Avoid Heavy Concealer.
Too much concealer will bring out the fine lines and wrinkles under our eye area. That is exactly what we want to avoid so go with a lightweight, hydrating concealer and remember that less is more!

  1. I wish as I've gotten older my skin would produce less oil but it hasn't. In fact it is producing more. So what to do? Matte to help with the oil and then all the lines show or glowy and look like a slick mess.

    1. Hello Christy, have you tried using a faced primer before applying foundation? That can help with the oil and this is one face primer we would recommend to help diminish shine! http://www.beautycarechoices.com/glo-skin-beauty/mattifying-primer-1piece

  2. Great suggestions! I'll try the cream blush to see if it looks better.
