Hooded eyes - From Blake Lively to Jennifer Lawrence, many of us have them. We love them, adore them, but we can all agree that applying eye makeup can be a bit tricky.
In this article, we will explain some fabulous tips on how to compliment and accentuate your lovely hooded eyes in a way that will make them pop!
Eye Primer: Using an eye primer is so essential when applying makeup, especially for those who have hooded eyes. Applying an eye primer before eye makeup application will help to avoid creasing and transferring of the eye shadow to the hood of the eye.
Eye shadow: When applying eye shadow, do not stop at the crease. If you stop at the crease, once you open your eyes you will not be able to see all the hard work you accomplished! Try bringing the eye shadow up higher in the “dome-shaped” technique and then blend the outer edges. Tip: It’s best to apply your eye shadow with your eyes open so you can find your natural crease.
Highlight: Do not highlight your entire lid! Highlight the inner corners of the eyes and brow arch. In doing this, those areas will catch the light and make your eyes appear bigger, brighter and awakened.
Eyeliner: Winged eyeliner can be tricky as it takes up a good amount of room on the eyelid and can take away from your eyeshadow masterpiece. Lining the top of the lash line with a black eyeshadow and the top waterline with a black eye pencil will help to make your eyes appear bigger with a soft & sultry look.
Lashes: Ditch the lash strips and go for individual lashes. These individual lashes make placement and applying much easier and, with many different sizes available in a pack, you can create a flared look to make your eyes appear wider and more opened. Plus, they are not as heavy as the strip lashes so they will not weigh your eyes down.
