Hair How-to : Vintage Hair Styles

Vintage hairstyles are all the rage, in particular styles from the 40's, 50's & 60's. This is one way the Beauty World pays homage to those era's with outstanding & unforgettable looks, by keeping them popular. Here are some of the most desired vintage styles featured by ghd, but with modern twists: 

Victory Rolls

1) Use a volume spray to produce bombshell curls or waves on the bottom half
2) Blow dry
3) Divide hair in half, putting top half up
4) Curl bottom half of hair with your choice of styler (Curling Iron/Wand or Flat Iron)

4) Take top half down & curl it as well

5) Work through curls with a paddle brush
6) Divide the top half once again
7) Tightly twist section of hair
8) Then roll the hair up into itself to create a knot-effect
9) Use bobby-pins to secure the knot in place.

Screen Siren

1) Blow dry with a smoothing product
2) Create all over curls with your choice of styler (Curling Iron/Wand or Flat Iron)
3) Then brush curls into waves

Modern Bardot

1) Blow dry with a volume/texture spray
2) Curl hair with styler of your choice (Curling Iron/Wand or Flat Iron)
3) Loosen curls by running your fingers through your hair
4) Section off hair at the crown 
5) Lightly backcomb that section for height & volume
6) Secure section together with bobby pins
